How to get a HEAD with mobile and accessible browsing
Oct 21st, 2008 by iheni
The much anticipated Head Conference is almost upon us with presentations starting October 24th 16:00 UTC. I just know this is going to be a great conference and a lot of fun with so many great and passionate speakers covering every angle of the web today via the web.
I’ll be speaking on Two birds one stone: the cross over between mobile and web accessibility which, if you’ve read this blog, you’ll know is a bit of a personal passion of mine, so much so it lead me to join Opera who’s support for one web across all devices makes so much sense on so many levels. I’ll be covering why designing with mobile and web access in mind is relevant to your web design projects (even if you don’t think mobile or disabled users are your target audience), cross overs in coding and design, tools such as Opera DragonFly which can debug both desktop and mobile web pages, trick, tips and techniques.
The conference runs over three days until October 26th but if you can’t make it don’t worry as all presentations will be made available to everyone who has a ticket which is a bargain at $149 – loads better than costly flights and hotels when traveling to conferences.
Speaking of flights and hotels I will be squeezing in my presentation while back home in-between trips to France and Oslo. Unfortunately this means I have a slot which is slightly out of the planned <head> speaking hours at 10 AM GMT on Saturday 25th. I realise that this is a bit of a graveyard shift with most people still out on a Friday night or comatose from a Friday night but hopefully I’ll see a few of you there. And I wont hold it against you if you’re still in pyjamas…
For more information check out the Head schedule and list of speakers or visit the Second Life hub and see you there.
