Are CAPTCHA’s going the way of the dodo?

In a recent article in the UK’s Guardian How CAPTCHA was foiled: Are you a man or a mouse?, CAPTCHA was reported as being “broken” and as Wordpress’s Matt Mullenweg described it “the bane of the internet”.
