Vodafone Foundation Smart Accessibility Awards 2011

I tweeted yesterday about the Vodafone Foundation Smart Accessibility Awards (#vsa2011), a competition to get developers, designers and users together to come up with an idea for an application that can help older and disabled users:

The Vodafone Foundation Smart Accessibility Awards is a new contest to promote the development of IT applications designed to improve the lives of those with disabilities and people that are older, to help them get more actively involved in society.

It’s a great idea for a competition and has already generated a lot of interest over Twitter. There’s also been a few people asking if I know of any developers, designers or people with ideas that I can put in touch with one another.

So, if you want to get involved then please Tweet (or leave a comment) using the hashtag #vsa2011 explaining what you can contribute and what you are looking for i.e. ‘I have an idea but need a developer’, ‘I’m an interaction designer but need someone with an idea’ and so on.

Please pass this on to anyone you think may be interested but especially end users themselves as an idea is only a great idea if it’s going to get used.

Happy coding, inventing and creating!

  1. Thanks for this Henny! There will be some related events going on in the UK and European cities. I’ll post the info when it’s available.
